Bonus Guest Episode: Rob Carroll

Rob Carrol is the latest guest for our bonus mini-episode run. Rob is a music publicist, writer, and general supporter of all things Australian music. Seminal indie night Rare Finds was one of Rob’s baby’s, growing it to a full east coast tour after a while. Rob now heads up Good Intent, a music publicity org. He also writes for the very good UK music blogs, The Line of Best Fit and The 405

Rob has a good chat about discovering ‘Fucked Up Over You’, by Ro, one of his favourite songs of 2018.

Bonus Guest Episode: Adam Jones

Adam Jones is a name you might not know. You definitely have heard his work though. In, fact you're probably about to hear it soon - Adam is responsible for the incredible theme music you hear each and every week on the pod.

Adam and Miks go back a fair few years after meeting at an early Gang Of Youths show in 2013. Adam is a brilliant musician in his own right, producing music under the guise of The Ship Shape. He is currently working on sound for theatre shows and also does the theme for Mikstape, Miks's other show on Play On Radio.

Adam tells us about one of his favourite local tracks of 2018, 'Change' by JOY.

You can stream the track here

You can check out Adam's project The Ship Shape here.

[Insert comment here about how Adam does the theme music but he's actually the guest on the pod for this ep and thanking him again would look a litle OTT, but really, when you think about it, he's actually well deserving of the additional thanks because he's quite great at what he does, and yes, generous too].

Bonus Guest Episode: Zac Abroms

Very excited to have Zac Abroms from Viceroyalty jumping on this bonus mini-ep.

Zac manages an AMD fave Alice Ivy as well as a couple of others. If you've ever participated in the Melbourne music scene, you've probably come into some sorta contact with Zac. He's either organised the event you went to, did PR for the artist you love, or you've seen him at a show.

Zac has a good ol' rave about CERES and their big tune from 2018, 'Viv In The Front Seat'.

Episode Six

Dear Diary,

AMD here. I mean, I know you already know that and everything, but still.

Anyways, everything is going to plan! Episode Six is here, ready to be streamed and loved and shared and all of the good things. This one is really good, like, actually the best of the six episodes we’ve released so far (Sorry episodes 1-5 😏). The music is also sooooo good too.

There’s tunes from Max Quinn, Japanese Wallpaper, Jess Locke, Ro, Bec Stevens and Martin Frawley. All of them are, like, the best. And I know you get me (even if you are just a book that I write my inner most secrets in), but all those artists also get me, like, heaps. I don't know, it's really hard to put into words.

I got streams of the tracks below and if ya wanna hear the episode, I got that below too.

I also started this thing where other people can help me each month which is, like, the greatest thing eva. It’s from the website called Pozible, and omg you can do that here. I’m sure if you were a real person, you would.

My really generous and increds friend Adam Jones helped out with the episode and did the theme music. He is divine 😍

I got some links below and, like, still, I know you aren’t, like, real or anything…but if you were, I know you’d go give us a review on Apple Podcasts.

I’ll write another one of these in you in about a fortnight x

Love you sooooo much.

AMD xoxo
